The National Museum of Natural History

The National Museum of Natural History is huge. It has currently twenty-four exhibits. Some of those exhibits include, the Miracle on the Hudson, an in-depth investigation on the recent plane crash landing in the Hudson River, Asian Living, the Hope Diamond, Written in Bone, Evolution, Dinosaurs, and a lot more. A lot of these exhibits, like the Miracle on the Hudson, you probably won’t see elsewhere.

We went to the National Museum of Natural History mostly to see the Imax, so I only had a chance to go to one exhibit. I chose the Sant Ocean Hall. That was an exhibit about the ocean and the fish inhabiting it. It was pretty interesting, but most of the fish were dead. There were a couple live fish, a clown fish and a blue tang (Nemo and Dory from finding Nemo). There was information about human impact and the destruction of the ocean.

The Imax was called “Deep Sea”, and it was in 3D. The movie was about how all the oceans creatures depend on each other to survive. Some in direct symbiosis, like sea turtles and their cleaner fish. They didn’t only have deep-sea creatures.  The footage that they had was amazing, and the 3D really made it stand out. The narration could have been better, even though the narrators were Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet.

Over all the National Museum of Natural History was really interesting and I think that the Junior High should go back and spend more time in the museum.
