The National Botanical Gardens
by Lucas Schoen
The Botanical Gardens in Washington, DC are a collection of large greenhouses that house thousands of different species of plants from all over the world. It is a warm, inviting sanctuary where people can read a book, talk to a friend, or just look at the delightful plants, trees, and flowers.
The Botanical Gardens are comprised of many different rooms such as the West Orangery, the Rain Forest, the Desert Plant room, the Canopy Walk and the Medicine Plant room. On the canopy walk you can walk above the trees and see the flowers and vines usually found in the rainforest. There is a gentle mist that keeps the plants moist.
I really loved the Botanical Gardens because it was a warm and peaceful place to sit and relax with mist gently spraying all around. I encourage anyone who is visiting DC to take a break at the Botanical Gardens.
